Southern California - Birthday Weekend 3/24/97
Last weekend Jen and I
packed the car and drove down to San Diego. We played along the
beach cities turning cart wheels, exploring the coast life,
playing with the locals,
petting their dogs, and just looking around.
Then we drove out to the desert just north of Mexico along the
sandy and desolate two tracks and train tracks. I surfed
the sand, climbed to the top of the rocks, gave thanks, and camped under the full moon. The next day, adorned
with make shift camping hats, we headed back to San Diego via the
Badlands of Southern California.
Then Jen's older sister and husband,
natives of the city, toured us around San Diego. We checked out the cool coast towns north
of the city and Balboa Park next to the San Diego Zoo where we watched lawn bowling. But that seemed a bit boring so Jen turned another cart wheel before we
got kicked off the grass.
We drove back to San Francisco late last night 1,400 miles later. Watch for upcoming photos of Pete and Kerry and their adventures in SF this next weekend.
